UAE — the United Arab Emirates — is a federation of seven emirates including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. And here's the thing travellers ask us most: whether you call it an Emirates visa, a UAE visa or a Dubai visa, it is the same document — one e-visa issued by UAE immigration that lets you enter through any emirate and travel freely between all seven.
Citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries don't need a visa at all and can enter with a national ID card. Expats living in GCC countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia) do need an entry permit before travelling — something we arrange online every day.
Around 60 nationalities receive a visa on arrival — among them the United States, the United Kingdom, EU countries, Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand. Most get 30 days free on landing, while EU passport holders can stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
New for 2026: citizens of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa who hold a valid residence permit from countries such as the US, UK or EU states can now also get a visa on arrival — 14 days for AED 100 or 60 days for AED 250.
Indian citizens holding a valid US visa or Green Card remain eligible for a 14-day visa on arrival. All other Indian passport holders — and citizens of most other countries — apply for the Emirates e-visa before flying, which is typically approved within 24–72 working hours.
Connecting through Dubai or Abu Dhabi? A 48-hour transit visa is free of government charge and the 96-hour version costs just AED 50 — but both must be arranged before you fly, not at the airport. Beyond that, the UAE offers 30-day and 60-day tourist visas in single or multiple entry, and a self-sponsored 5-year multiple-entry visa for frequent visitors.
Passport and photo. Your passport needs at least 6 months' validity from your arrival date, and your photo should be passport-style on a white background, taken within the last 6 months.
Fees, with nothing hidden. The UAE government charges AED 200 for a 30-day and AED 300 for a 60-day single-entry visa, plus 5% VAT. The price you see at our checkout is the complete amount — government fee, VAT and our service fee together.
Don't overstay. Since February 2026 the UAE charges a flat AED 50 per day overstay fine across all emirates, with no grace days on tourist visas. The good news: since late 2025, most 30- and 60-day visit visas can be extended online without leaving the country — ask us before your visa expires, not after.
Track it, don't guess. Every application you make with us can be followed stage by stage on our Emirates visa status page — and your approved e-visa works on any airline, into any UAE airport.
